A grumpy cat that killed Marie... [ he just sounds frustrated with everything rather than angry, though. ] Did the shadow still stick around even after he died? Or did he just lose the memory of that part too?
[ tired sigh ]
...Well, at least we didn't vote for anyone innocent this time.
[ he's kind of dreading talking to rin because he's sure he'll be upset about this, and then he'll get upset too. ]
It's... the first time, I think. That I haven't really felt bad about the person being executed. Even if the circumstances stink, and even though it wasn't this week... he still made his own choice and should take responsibility for it.
[ ... ]
I feel worse about... not feeling worse, I guess. But then I think... before coming here and getting mixed up in all of this, I wouldn't have felt bad about it then either. Making people take responsibility for their crimes is what I do.
Mm. I'm not too pleased it was apparently just revenge from what he said? As if Kaeya would've been pleased with that, or as if Sylvain purposely would've targeted Kaeya. Kaeya told me to keep an eye on Sylvain. He was wanting the groups to come together and breach a few of the divisions that were popping up between us.

It might do well to remember not every case is cut and dry. It's not bad to feel bad if a situation sucks. You can feel bad for voting for something, acknowledge that you like them and that they got themselves into a messy situation, but also understand they did something you don't agree with.
Harrow actually said he told her he mostly did it for his hostage, so he might have been partly lying about what he said at the trial... which I guess is why I even feel like this about not feeling worse. Because maybe it isn't that cut and dry either.
...But he still made that choice himself, so... even if this place's whole idea of justice is kind of a bad joke, this feels like the closest we've gotten to it. Which is... kind of a relief, I guess.
[ he's had conversations about that a few times and he never likes them. it was nice to be able to point to his world's justice system as some kind of ideal compared to these places, but he's started to feel like maybe that isn't really true either... and he doesn't know what to do with it. ]
Sebastian, both parties tend to remember after the trial is done.
[ aka if you listen closely you can probably hear the yakety sax music as yjh chases his killer around the hotel. i hope to god he's still just a head somehow and is rolling along with his sword in his mouth. ]

Or rather, that's the assumption we're working with.
[ hmmm. ]
Doesn't mean everyone's happy about it, but that's unsurprising.

A lot of people came here to protect their hostages. I think that would've been more palatable.
Justice is a strange thing to define, I think. This might be the closest we've got to justice as you are used to though, from what you've said.

...I do wish we'd figured out who put the head in the box, though.

If we have another meeting like last week, we may likely find out.
