Oh, so like special effects? Cool! I've seen this kind of thing done on stage before, but we've never gotten to do it ourselves, so it's the first time I've really seen it up close.
I guess they thought you needed something flashy AF to get you pumped up about stuff?

[ sure enough, he's here! a mixing palette and various tubes of paint sit out on the table, a small canvas in front of him. he doesn't seem to notice sebastian immediately, focused on the strokes of his brush - it has the makings of a beach at nighttime. ]
Partially, yeah. It also depends on the amount of detail you want to put into it, so you'd have to be more careful where you put the paint strokes - and to give you time to sleep, too.
That's not long compared to my usual style, though. The techniques are different, and it takes a lot of time and concentration to get it right. Those can take weeks to finish up the way you want it, but it's always worth it in the end.

I liked what I saw, so I asked for some art materials for my birthday, and I started drawing whenever I had a second to spare - just little things, like whatever I saw around the house or stuff from photographs. Seeing all that art made me want to paint, too, but I had to learn the basics first, you know? So I taught myself.

Actually, I don't think it's really either? We just went inside because it was really hot that day. I don't think either of us was thinking about where we were going.
He goes to galleries where my art is set up now, but I don't think he really goes out of his way to see other stuff.

Not really. I've just been doing something different in the prism because my usual style takes a while to do... longer than I figured we had before, and def longer than we have now.
Usually I make things more like the paintings in my room. [ nihonga, that is. ] Apparently that's surprising! Who knew, right?
