I wonder... I suppose it wasn't something that Cloud or the Host decided, but another party... using some method that was already written into the "rules" of this game.
Whatever it is, I suppose we could call it a miracle...

Clementine once told me that there was someone in her "game" who could save somebody from dying under certain circumstances, but it was unlikely to work.
If it's not that, then... perhaps an item or a special rule that came into play.
