It was part of the "Wrath" trial. When we lost, we'd get hurt. When we won, the other people at the table... people who looked like friends and loved ones... They got hurt instead.
Yeah... I think these things are all happening for his entertainment too. We got this tape that— well, it was a couple of the staff talking, and it sounded like we were originally supposed to be dying on those trips too, not just at the hotel... but they've been stopping that from happening.
A little. It involved the staff, too. They talked about something happening with the dead... I'm going to try sending a letter to see if I can hear their side of the story.
It sounded like they tricked Virgo, and stole a key from them... and Virgo was worried that they were opening a door they shouldn't open, that there's something dangerous there...
Apparently, they called Virgo there, saying someone was hurt... and then they tied them up, and took a key from them...
I received a few letters mentioning that "someone" was there with them, but I couldn't make out the names... Maybe they were trying to tell me about the staff who visited them.
Ah, yeah, I had letters like that too! When I sent one back I asked if they could try to describe who they were talking about since the name was getting blacked out... don't have an answer to that yet, though.
I also, um... had one that said to pay attention whenever anyone gets flowers, but I'm not sure what that means. Um, what we're supposed to be paying attention to, I mean.
Um -- on the writing desk there, there's a book about flowers, if you need to look them up. [She nods at the desk. There is also a second vase of flowers there.] Or you could bring them over and I can tell you!
Um, I-I'm not really sure. There were a couple of different yellow ones, and some purple... I'll see if I can find them.
[ he will grab the book and look through it! and after flipping through a bunch of pages will eventually point to the ones with... osmanthus, goldenrod, and clematis. ]
I guess...? If it's supposed to be a secret code it kind of feels like asking what a message meant would mess things up, but maybe if it's vague enough...
I wonder how long it takes for messages to go back and forth. Have you gotten responses to anything you've sent yet?
I asked Kazunari about the bouquets and he confirmed that he sent me one. And he said that someone messed up whatever they used to send them, so they can't do it anymore... but now we have letters, so it's okay.

Goldenrod... encouragement and precaution.
And clematis... perhaps this is meant to mean "safety."
Interestingly, all three of them can also mean "protection." Maybe that's what they wanted to communicate the most...

I think this might be the one Kazunari sent. To signal that he's out there, and that they're doing their best.
