Y-yeah.... I was just... I was really sure he was telling the truth, a-and after last week... I didn't speak up enough then, and Bucky... I didn't want it to happen again!
... mm. I understand. Kazunari Miyoshi was also very certain he was telling the truth - it is natural, to want to believe in one's friends. You have no reason to hide away, or be ashamed.
[he will incline his head toward the courtyard]
I have brought tea. Would you like to sit and talk with me?
I guess. ...I don't really know what to think anymore. It used to just be him saying stuff like that, but... lately it's like I really am wrong all the time.
You're very young, you know. Commonly, it is in this time that people are able to be wrong, and it is how they grow. To be incorrect, to take detours, and to lose your way until you find it again.
But to be wrong does not mean you are stupid or unintelligent. It merely means that there is more to consider still.
And that comes with practice and, if you are open to it, perhaps some assistance.
[ he sips his tea, listening. this is kind of like what rin said too, he thinks. ]
...I didn't used to be wrong this much, though. [ his voice is quieter than normal. his throat hurts. ] Even back home, after I got out of school, it's like... it feels like even if I answer the same questions the same way I did before, those answers are wrong now. I don't get it.
[ he's too tired to think of specifics, and his head is throbbing from crying so much. ]
Just like— with investigations, my teachers always said the way I conducted them was perfect, and my deductions about cases were really brilliant! And Pops... didn't think that, but I figured his standards were just really high. 'Cause he was so great. I won all these awards and everything!
But now if I do the exact same stuff I got awards for before, other people say I'm stupid and my logic is bad!
... great lords will sometimes have the same troubles. To be instructed by their educators, to learn the rules of tactics, and then to discover in the worst moments of war that not all in life can be taught so easily.
I am sure you were a disciplined student, and there are gems within what you have been taught.
But sometimes it can be hard to reconcile with what is in front of you. I do not believe you stupid - perhaps others simply a bit impatient.
[ great lords... putting it that way does feel better. (it's honestly giving his capabilities as a student too much credit, because he never had to work or study hard for the grades he got, but he doesn't think it is.)
That it does, that it does... But that makes it all the more imperative to gather experience, and to know when to learn from your missteps.
Just as others pointed out gaps in your logic today, consider that in advance, and examine your own arguments before announcing them. If you are in need of an ear, I will always listen to you. You have my word.

What? I know I was stupid again, just like always! You don't have to tell me!
no subject
I do not find you stupid. It did not occur to me in the slightest to express that to you.
I thought you were very brave.

Rather, you were attempting to find a string of logic which might mean your friend's perceptions aligned with reality, were you not?

O-okay...

You need not answer if it is difficult but if I may....
... is there a reason why you thought that you would be insulted?
[to be called stupid first thing....]

[ he sniffles and takes a little sip from his cup... and before he can figure out what to say to that, a memory kind of answers it for him. ]
...

mikazuki frowns a bit at that, letting the memory wash over him and his expression is momentarily hard to read but.]
... you are treated unfairly.

I guess that makes sense, maybe.
