[ Sebastian has had a Bad Weekend, as evidenced by the bandage he still has on his neck, but with more places open for exploration on Monday, he eventually pulls himself together enough to do some investigating, just like he'd said he was going to.
When he encounters Valvatorez a little later in the day, he holds out a piece of paper with a flourish. ]
My report, as promised!
Preliminary Report
Upon our arrival here, everything was huge because our hosts* are really tall and apparently didn't know what size normal people were. [ the writing switches to a visibly different pen at this point, so it's pretty clear that that was originally the entire report before he wrote in everything else today after looking aound. ] I don't know how they were able to shrink down buildings and stuff but I guess they did because things look mostly normal now.
The buildings are nice, and include an orchestra hall for concerts and a courtroom (that I'm pretty sure they put here for me so I can practice hone my prosecution skills!), plus a library and a church (for the confession thing) etc.
The inn has a junky TV and some videotapes, which seems funny since everything else looks old and fancy. Speaking of the inn, the 2nd floor is the best floor because it's red and my room is there! Even though the paintings are really creepy.
There's a pretty park with gold grass (not painted!) and a glittery white tree and some kind of weird animal statues. It looks like it should be in a movie, or maybe a holiday display at a shopping mall.
Investigation ongoing.

*Aliens or angels or something? They're pretty scary and say a lot of weird stuff I don't really understand, but they're not as mean as that vampire jerk. I hope he falls down that well and stays there!!
Wait, isn't being bitten by a vampire supposed to oh no
Do let me know if anything requires further clarification.
[ Well, Sebastian has been asking the blurry lunch lady for special sardine dishes for every meal since Tuesday morning, but she seems to be getting increasingly sick of him, and he's not completely sure she won't eventually poison his food to make him stop, so it's time to take matters into his own hands!!
Which means buying (well, "buying") a whole bucket of sardines from the fish seller at the market and... doing...... something with them.
He's already realizing he has no clue what he's going to do as he starts walking away from the stall, staring down into the bucket at all these dead fish, when fate smiles upon him for probably the first time since he got here and he sees Valvatorez nearby. Ah!! Just who he needs!!! Maybe things got a little heated during those debates yesterday, but whatever, it's fine, this is a different subject! ]
Hey!
[ He waves, then runs over and holds out the bucket. ]
Er... Well, no, there's usually a bailiff to keep the defendants and witnesses in line. [ ... ] There's also usually a defendant when you start the trial.
[ There were... a lot of super weird things about that trial... ]
I guess. I don't think I'm supposed to get that involved, though. Like, Mr. Edgeworth... I think he wants the truth because it's the truth. I just wanted it because I was scared of getting the wrong person.
[ He sighs. ]
And then when I started getting close to the right one, I got scared again because I didn't want to think it could have been someone who'd been that close to me.
[ ...Not, like, friendship-wise, obviously, but they'd both been assigned to this same room. He feels weird looking over at Royce's part of the room now, even though he hardly ever saw him there. ]
Do you regret your priorities? Would you rather have the truth for the truth's sake? Fear of being wrong and the desire for the truth, both things lead to the same pursuit.
Fear is a valuable emotion. I won't say to throw your fears away.

[He will take it and read it over, and then.
Huh.]
You were bitten by a vampire? Which one?
no subject
See, I told you.
[ He stands there proudly as his A+ report is read!! but then just blinks at the question. ]
...What do you mean, which one?
no subject
[There's more than one!]
no subject
[ NO!!! ...Admittedly, yeah, he absolutely looks like one, but what kind of stupid odds are these to have MULTIPLE VAMPIRES here??
He takes a step back. ]
This report thing wasn't some trick to lure me over for my amazing— um, my totally ordinary and not delicious blood, was it??
[ Ugh, even if it's to protect himself, admitting his blood isn't a highly desirable delicacy still feels bad... ]

Val does not step forward, watching Sebastian.]
Relax, lad. I no longer drink human blood.
no subject
...Really? [ skeptical!! ] Why not?

He wraps his cape around himself for a moment, before throwing his arm out in a dramatic gesture.]

[ He waves, then runs over and holds out the bucket. ]
What's the best way to eat these?
no subject
Val moves to see who's yelling. Oh yes, the prosecutor boy. ]
There are several different ways of preparing them. I prefer them raw, but I require the blood within them.

I don't know if these are sushi grade...

Hm... Do you think people will get mad if I use the fireplace at the inn?
[ There isn't explicitly a "don't cook fish in the fireplace" rule that he's aware of, but. ]
Or I guess I can just find a lighter and make one myself...
[ which now sounds retroactively ominous after tonight's church fire but he is blissfully unaware of that here!! ]
no subject
[He is team "use the fireplace" since it's already there.]
Do you have any idea how to make a fire?
[Sebastian does not look like a young man who has ever camped.]

week 1, saturday post-trial
Once he's gotten his face taken care of, Sebastian just goes back to his room and sits on his bed with his knees pulled up to his chest. This sucks. ]

[ Though he's kind of out of it and probably takes a little too long, so — oh, never mind, there you are. He blinks. ]
Ah! Hey. [ ... ] Um. I-I took care of it like you said!
[ Please approve of his bandaids. ]
no subject
Good work.
Are you alright? [Emotionally.
He is very aware he got attacked at trial today.]
no subject
Of course! I mean, I... wouldn't be the best prosecutor if I couldn't handle that, right?
[ ... ]
It just... feels bad when you actually know everyone involved.
no subject
[ He closes his eyes for a moment, before talking again. ]
It feels bad because you care. There's nothing wrong with caring, but you must be sure to take care of yourself as well.
